About Maria MacDaniel

Maria McDaniel is a vocational college teacher on special assignment in the field of chemistry education at the University of Bonn and a tenured teacher at the Goldenberg Europakolleg Hürth/Wesseling. In her doctoral project, she investigates how generative AI and adaptive tutoring systems can enable effective, learning-enhancing feedback in chemistry education. Her main areas of work are chemistry education, AI-supported learning environments, feedback research, and vocational education and training. She previously studied English and chemistry to become a secondary school teacher at the University of Cologne and completed her teacher training at Emil-Fischer-Gymnasium in Euskirchen.
