The project Learning-enhanced Performance Feedback (LPF) investigates the effectiveness of a pilot program in which 35 primary schools have replaced traditional numerical grades with alternative forms of performance assessment starting in the 2022/2023 school year. So far, research on the potential effects of such measures has been very limited. To assess the impact of the intervention, various target outcomes will be examined—for example, the development of students’ enjoyment of learning, performance anxiety, and school well-being, as well as their academic progress at LPF schools compared to control schools. In addition to the students, teachers, school principals, and parents are also being surveyed longitudinally to provide a comprehensive picture of how the measure is perceived and implemented over time.
